This is one solid piece of metal, with no rivets, screws, or weld marks to collect food and debris. There is a black rubber insert under the handle to make it easier to grip. The hook on the end is the perfect length to flip down and hold the grip off the surface it is resting on.

The only downside is that barbecue forks are really not very useful, despite being included in almost every tool collection. Stabbing the meat while it is on the hot grill is a surefire way of releasing all of the moisture from the food.

I do have one of these, but I mainly use it to move my foil smoking packets off the charcoal. It works well for that.

Weber Style 32907 Professional-Grade 4-Piece Skewer Set CustomerReview

These are nice little skewers, especially for the price. Yes, the handles get hot during grilling–that’s why you use barbeque mitts or a hot pad to turn them over. The little sliding ring is nice for getting foods that tend to stick (like chicken) off of the skewer. Plus, they are stylish enough that you could let them cool down a bit and then give each guest their own skewer with the food still on it. Looks much cooler than a half-charred bamboo skewer! My only complaint is they are a little lightweight and the shaft is spot-welded on, but mine are still doing fine. They may not be the best skewers ever, but they’re not junk.
